Stay at home mom. Work from home?

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011
Jackie asked:

Does anyone work from home as a Medical Transcriptionist? I’ve seen the add many times for this position & even sent away for a brochure. I received it & read it many times but am still skeptical.
I’m always on the look out for scams as we all are!!

I have medical experience, am familiar with the terminology & my typing is wonderful…. Seems like a great job for me at home!!

Any legit online transcriptionist schools you can recommend? Thanks!

From stay at home mom to full time working mom. Any suggestions?

Saturday, September 10th, 2011
Erica M asked:

I am a mom of a 20 month old. I have been out of the workplace for all 20 months. But now I need to go back to work. My husband’s income is no longer sustaining us. So we decided I will go to get my Master’s degree in teaching while I work full-time as an elementary level art teacher. I will begin this fall on both my job and my studies. Are there any moms who can give me advice/warnings/encouragement? I’m scared to death that my daughter will resent me, I will be too overwhelmed, and I will never see my husband.
As of right now I’m either overqualified or under-qualified for everything…so school is the only way to go.

I had more energy as a working mom than as a stay at home mom. Why?

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011
VGirl asked:

I am 33, I have a 4 year old (who is not in daycare), I went from working to being a stay at home mom, but I have less energy than I did when I was working when he was 2. Is this common? My son is very well mannered compared to other kids, but he wants so much of my attention. I am trying to teach him to play without me and it usually turns into him pouting and me getting pissed.

I am also in college fulltime, and it is the hardest thing to do because by the time I get my little one in bed, my mind is so tired that I can’t even study. I take him to the play areas to try to study while he plays, but I am either distracted by him or other kids about to do dangerous things, or other parents trying to talk to me.

How are others doing this with so much energy? Some days I want to scream because I am so tired and stressed.
When I get pissed, I don’t say anything at him because I know he just wants my time. I can’t afford daycare because I am not working. I think because we are always around each other it gets a bit much at times and I need a break from him. But I can’t afford it.

Hey guys iv been really having a bad week. Im a 17 year old male. My family has recently been in crisis due to the bills. 1st off let me start u off with this i live with my mom, dad, uncle, sister, brother (4yrs old). My uncle recently lives with us because he had trouble with his girlfriend she was ruining his life so he asked my dad which is his brother 2 live with us my dad said ok. My dad never wanted my uncle here because he suspected my mom would cheat or my uncle would b trouble because he usually is. The reason why my uncle is here is because my mom wanted him here and he would have died due 2 drinking. Anyway my Dad works & my mom & uncle stay at home. I go 2 school so does my 4 year old brother & my sister works 2. My mom cant work because in the past we had horrible babysiters & the rent would jack up if she started 2 work. My Dad is always tired after he comes home from work my Mom rarely cooks dinner So usually my Dad is pissed. Basicly my mom likes my uncle more then my dad and she shows it.

Stay at home moms whos husbands work long hours?

Saturday, January 1st, 2011
Lindsey H asked:

How do you keep from getting lonely? My husband sleeps till nine in the morning, goes to work at ten, and comes home at about 9:30 at night. We have a good relationship, I just hardly see him. I am a stay at home mom, because we are actually saving money by me not working. Daycare is expensive, and we have five kids between us.We rarely get to go on dates because there is no one willing to watch five kids at once, so we have to find several babysitters, and make sure they are all available every time we go out.Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE being a mom, my kids and I have a blast together, but sometimes I just get so lonely without anyone to talk to but my kids all day. I have sort of resorted to corresponding with people on here ( I don’t like chat rooms) , to get some kind of adult interaction. But I’ve found that usually people on here don’t want to interact beyond the questions and answers. I know this probably sounds like “Poor me” , but it’s not. (running out of room….)
I would just like to know how other stay at home moms keep from getting so lonely? We only have one vehicle, and my husband has to take it to work, so getting out within these hours is out of the question. I’m usually fine, there are just some days when I feel like ” Man, I wish I had someone here!”
To plugged in mom- Six children,Gosh! All ten and under, too. I’ve got two stepchildren, but they live with us all the time, and three of my own. They are ranging from ages 7 to 1 yr. Alot of times that is what keeps me going, is knowing there are other moms out there who do the same, or more!
To Pedro- I used to get on chat rooms a couple of years ago, and it seemed like there was always a bunch of people who would just go in there specifically to ruin it for everybody. It just seemed like a bunch of immature people who like to argue. I’m sure they are not all like that, but it kind of ruined the experience for me.
Come to think of it, that’s how it is alot of times on Answers, too, isn’t it? If I could find a chat room with people who are serious about having a conversation, and who don’t ruin it by turning it into a chance to bash someone, or wanting sex, that would be great!
